STORY OVERVIEW
MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH
Magic Knight Rayearth is a story about the adventures of three 14-year-old girls, Hikaru Shidou, Fuu Hououji, and Umi Ryuuzaki, who are summoned by Princess Emeraude to the magical world of Cefiro to become the Legendary Magic Knights and save Cefiro from the evil forces that seek to destroy it.
Princess Emeraude, who as the Pillar of Cephiro has been maintaining the peace and unity of Cephiro through her strong prayer and inner strength, was captured by her priest, Zagato, her most trusted Guardian. With the last of her powers, the Princess summons the three girls to Cephiro in hopes of saving it from destruction.
Cephiro is a magical world which materializes from the will power of its inhabitants. When Princess Emeraude prays for Cephiro to be a place of peace and tranquility, it is her will power which transforms Cefiro into a serene paradise. But when she is taken away and held captive, the inhabitants of Cephiro become worried and afraid. It is this fear which creates and unleashes evil forces upon this once idyllic Garden of Eden.
In Cephiro , Guru Clef, a powerful sorcerer waits for the three girls. On arrival, he tells them that their mission, as the Legendary Magic Knights, is to awaken the Machine Gods and restore Cephiro to its former glory, and that they will be unable to return home until their mission is complete.
Guru Clef gives each of the girls a magical ability. But before he can teach them how to use magic, they are attacked by one of Zagato's disciples, Alcyone. Clef tells them to go to the Forest of Silence where Presea will be able able to supply them with weapons, and thus their adventure begins...
