Scouting Headlines |
| Exciting New Year 2001-2
This Girl Scouting year promises to be fun and exciting not only for the girls we all try to inspire, but for leaders and volunteers alike. This years theme for all District sponsored events is? Drum roll, please? SURVIVOR! |
| District Team Members 2001-2
Attached is a listing of all our Union 2 District Team Members for the 2001-2002 scouting year. Please feel free to contact these members regarding any questions you may have. We are all here to assist each other, to make Girl Scouting an event in our girls lives that they never forget! And one we never forget as well! |
| Meeting Rules
These meeting rules will be listed in each and every monthly issue of "Scouting Headlines". If we all strive to follow these simple rules, we can all benefit and grow in our scouting experiences. 1. Meetings start on time. 2. Hand out an agenda/minutes/notes. 3. One person has the floor/speaks at a time. 4. Raise hand for floor recognition for comments or questions. 5. BE POSITIVE! 6. Leave gossip at the door! |
| New Meeting Format
Leader meetings are going to take on a new format. Not only will it incorporate this years "Survivor" theme, but also address many concerns and changes requested at the end of the 2000-2001 scouting year. We hope that the things we have planned, will excite everyone! The biggest change is Age Level seating or Round Table seating, we would like to call them TRIBES. This allows new leaders to know who is also in their age level, for that much needed 1st year assistance. Even experienced leaders will find that they can easily exchange age appropriate ideas and experiences |
| Name Tags
As in past years, we will start our new Girl Scouting year with new name tags. Please note that the District Team will have name tags of a different color. This is so team members can be easily identified for anyone having questions or concerns. So, in keeping with this years Survivor theme, the name tags will all have age level or tribe graphics. This is for easy recognition of those in any given age level group. Tan: District Team Members White: All leaders Daisy: Toucan Brownie: Kangaroo Junior: Alligator Cadette/Senior: Gibbon For leaders who have multiple level troops, their name tags will reflect that as well. (i.e., Brownie/Junior leader will have both a Kangaroo and Alligator on their name tag) |
