Settings for Viewing Pictures In Internet Explorer
NOTE: Be sure you are running the latest version of Internet Explorer. These suggestions are meant for versions 5 or higher, and we cannot guarantee their accuracy on earlier versions.
1. Start by right-clicking on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and select "Properties". This will bring up the Internet Options screen.
2. Start by clearing your cache. (The cache is a holding area of websites you have visited, along with their graphic files.) Click the Delete Files... button, then click OK in the small dialog box that will appear. Most times, this will solve the problem. If it doesn't, continue to Step 3.
3. Now might be a good time to check the settings on how often IE will check a page for a "newer" version. Click the "Settings..." button. Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages:", you might find the little radio button next to "Automatically". You might want to select "Every visit to the page" for better results. Click "OK" when you're done here and go to Step 4.
4. Finally, go to the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the "Multimedia" section. Make sure there's an "X" in the following boxes:
- Show pictures
- Smart image dithering
Once you've finished this, click "OK" to save any changes you have made.
