| GOHL Rules | ||||||||||
| All Games will be simmed at 5pm EST Time | ||||||||||
| The 3 strikes rule goes as follows: 1) Lines once a week (If your team is playing well I know you may not necessarily send them in) This is for when players are fatigued, injured or after trades. 2) Please post a message on the message board at least once a week. This league will only be as successful as you the GM's make it. 3) Make moves as needed. I will be keeping an eye to see who is participating and who isn't. 4) I will send out a mandatory email once in a while and you will have 36 hours to reply to it. This allows some who do not check email often. You will be excused if I am notified of your absence before the email goes out. Your 1st strike will be a warning. 2nd strike will be a 2nd warning and a 5,000,000 fine. 3rd strike well you know your out. We are always looking for any suggestions or ideas that you have to making the league that much better. The GOHL will be around for a long time, and let's keep it as the best league. Thanks to the teams that have made team pages, made certain links for the page and have contributed. |
| Player Suspensions 1) Head-Butting 2) Kicking 3) Spearing All of these depend on the severity of the injury and circumstances. |
| The GOHL is a simulation of real world hockey. Participants become GM's, create and manage franchises just as a GM would in the NHL. They are responsible for running their team and should strive each season to win the Cup. GM's are responsible for the every day operations of there teams, player administration, finances. This is designed to be means of entertainment and vulgarity will not be tolerated. Grounds for IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL will be made in the event of this. GM's may be fired at any time due to failure to care for there teams, failure to respond to emails, going bankrupt, being annoying (Commish discretion), or anything deemed unacceptable. | ||||||||||
| Rosters GM's are responsible for player management. Moving players to and from the pro and farm rosters is critical due to injuries and player development. Moving players between roster needs to be done with the GM Editor. A teams pro roster may contain a max of 25 players and a minimum of 20. The remainder of the team's players must reside on the farm rosters or be scratched from the lineup. A lineup on any given day will consist of 20 players, two of which must be goalies. Additionally there must be at least 3 players at each forward position and 6 defensemen. Any player that is scratched will receive there full salary for that game. If you do not submit lines the simulator program will choose them for you. |
| Trades As the owner you may freely trade any asset that your team controls, such as money, players, future considerations, and draft picks. To complete trades all parties involved must send the commish the trade. The email needs to be clear as to what is being traded and to whom. Note The trade deadline will be after 80% of the regular season games are played. |
| Releasing Players When you want to release a player you must buy-out his contract. It all varies on the player's contract. The commish will speak with you if you wish to release a player. |
| Goalies Each team must maintain at least 3 goalies, 2 on the pro roster and 1 in the farm in case of injury. |
| Retirement Players will usually retire after the age of 35 depending on there performance. However, if a player retires from the NHL that player will play out that season and then retire. |
| Roster Limits Total team rosters are limited to 50 players max. This includes the 20 to 25 on the pro roster and the remainder of the farm roster. If a team goes over this max then they are required to release a player WITHOUT ( I REPEAT WITHOUT) compensation. You go over you lose a player, however if you release a player due to max you will NOT have to buy out his contract. Contract Holdouts will not be counted toward player limits. |
| Position Changes Position changes will be allowed however only forwards may switch positions. No Forward may become a Dman or Goalie and vise versus. Keep in mind switching a players position could have a negative affect on him. |
| Free Agents (RFA) - Are 30 years of age or under. (UFA) Are over the age of 31. Bidding for these players will be done at the end of the year. If you fail to give a 10%increase to your RFA by the end of the season, he will become a UFA, since you are not giving him a qualifying offer. So be sure to make the right choice for that.
| Holdouts A player who is not resigned by there old teams nor resigned in the FA Market becomes a holdout. Holdouts may only be for the players original team. The player agent will negotiate the contract with the GM. |
| Lines It is preferred that you send in lines using the GM editor. If you do not have it please get it. If you cannot get it you will need to send in text lines. You may also send me an email stating for the commish to have the simulator auto your lines for you. |
