Glass Purple Flower Pin

This exquisite flower pin measures approximately 2-1/4 inches in diameter (actual flower is smaller than photo). The flower is constructed using a single, 4-foot length of brass wire, that has been twined and beaded around a tiny 5-mm circlet into the resulting pattern. The flower has been wired onto a goldplated round pinback, set slightly off-center to accomodate the design (see photo below for back view). The flower petals curl slightly inward toward the center. The beads are 4-mm Czech firepolish crystals in an iridescent purple-over-black and vitrail (metallic black diamond), with faceted and rainbowed Miyuki shoji glass beads in purple and green. Miyuki's beads are said to be the most expensive glass beads in the world - one look at the sparkle on this glass flower and you can see why they are worth the price! The flower center is a 6-mm mauve glass pearl. Each flower takes 3-4 hours to wire, with no room for mistakes. Even one tiny kink in the wire would ruin the flower! Each glass flower I create will be one-of-a-kind, as I explore different shapes and colors... some will be affixed to pins like this and others will find their way onto barrettes or other ornaments. Please feel free to e-mail me if there is a particular color scheme you would like to see. Enjoy!

Price: $65 - one-of-a-kind
