This is a genuine cultured pearl and 14 karat gold-filled necklace. This 17” necklace features violet purple 5-5.5mm potato-shape cultured freshwater pearls and matte violet glass beads. These are Chinese cultured pearls that have been permanently colored. The expensive Japanese dye yields intense color, while still allowing the natural luster of the nacre to shine through. These pearls have good size and shape uniformity, with moderate nacre and lustre, and few imperfections/inclusions. The glass beads are chunky rainbow-finish matte violet bricks, semi-translucent, and perhaps a bit darker than the photo indicates (flash illuminated interior of beads).
