[September 3rd 2002] As of August 28th, I've been taking classes at the Universtity of Texas at Austin.
While I still look forward to making movies, my current focus is gaining knowledge (material) for my
ambitious project of screenwriting. I admit that I am not always self motivated in my works, yet I hope
this new academic environment will inspire me to continue to express myself. Just today, I found myself
writing independently an argument against a small business' misleading tactics to gain customers. When I
finish this article, I will post it here as well as submit it to various student papers.
[July 18th 2002] I wrote a sketch as an example of my work for a sketch comedy pilot currently shoooting
in Austin. I haven't heard back yet, which is not surprising, but I was hoping that in exchange for the
volunteer special effects I had assisted them with, they would kindly offer me information on the craft
I am now pursuing, screenwriting.
[July 3rd 2002] Lately I've been pretty busy with this internship. Alongside the Science in the Movies
show that we do for schools and camps, Wolf Stuntworks has taken on many projects for the summer. Last
week we did some volunteer special effects for an HBO pilot, the "Hyper Jackson Chamber". They needed
various smoke, rigging, and pyro. I've always been a fan of sketch comedy such as "SNL" and less
creatively restricted shows such as "HBO's Mr. Show With Bob and David" and "MTV's the State" so I wish
them goodluck. Also, I drove up to Granger/Elgin, Texas to do two days worth of FX on the "25th Hour", a
Spike Lee movie starring Ed Norton. It was great to be a part of such a professional film set even
though the effects were merely cosmetic, meaning we didn't blow anything up. Just atmospheric smoke.
Some extra really described the day in Granger almost so that it feels like i wrote it- he and I had VERY
similar thoughts and perceptions. And upcoming projects include a low budget film called "Level Land" and
a James Cameron produced documentary, "The Bismarck". The Bismarck is a big deal that will take a couple
weeks in Wilmington, North Carolina. We're doing rain, wash, smoke, wind, stunts, pyro, all sorts of good
stuff. I'm excited, my history teachers will be so proud.
