Welcome - Site Updated on 9/10/05 This site was created in hopes of helping those new to computers or unfamiliar with computer security achieve a more secure computer. First and foremost, I am not a computer security specialist nor do I profess to be. I do not work in the security or anti-virus industry. I will be relating my experiences here for you to hopefully benefit from. I will provide you with links, information, product recommendations and opinions. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. This site and its information are primarily for Windows 98 users. If you have come here looking for warez, filez, crackz, nukers, viruses, Trojans, mail bombs, etc. you are seriously out of luck. This site is for promoting security and staying safe online. There are no downloads here. Everyone these days seems worried about computer security. Attacks by "Crackers" and miscreants costs businesses and the average consumer millions of dollars a year in damage and lost data. In some cases, the damage is corrected, but often it cannot be. Viruses and "backdoor programs" i.e. Trojans affect both corporations and home users, but where the corporation might be out a few hours of uptime on their servers due to an infection, the home user, might have lost very important data that is impossible to replace. How easy is it for some unauthorized person to get into your computer? Click HERE. Before you get angry, it was a trick. By entering " file:///c:/ " as the link, I simply told your computer to display, in a browser setting, the contents of your C drive. No information is transmitted nor saved. This is entirely on your computer. But seriously, right now, this very minute, as you read this, your system and its contents, as well as the network you might have, are there for the taking if you are not properly protected. The threat to your computer and your data is real. Viruses and Trojan horse programs represent the single greatest threat to the home user. You, the user, have the most important job. You have the responsibility and the obligation to educate yourself in matters of security if you are to properly protect yourself. I hope this site can be a resource for you in this endeavor.
