This is a plan to put in a music hall where the old Southshore cinema building stands in Alameda, CA. The GRC is trying to raise 1 million dollars to complete their propesed idea, which include a music hall and recording facilities. Why are we interested? It isn't only becaue we help out local bands by providing an economicly sound way to make music videos, but the GRC is planning on broadcasting thair shows live over TV and the internet. Distant Thunder Films newest project is a film version of the novel Syrup by Maxx Barry. Writter/Director Brandon Paredes will head the project and will begin shooting this summer of 2002. No finished dat is set yet due to the "extensive completeness of the film," says Paredes, " I want to make this the first film ever where the movie fallows the book page by page." The cast will include Joseph Matarrese(The Robbery), Tina Vaughn, Andrew Richards, and Micah Sapp. We will keep you updated as far as the release date goes. 6•21•2002 Distant Thunder TV?!- Well, it looks as if Distant Thunder Films might expend into the television and braodcasting market. Rumor has it that a new division is in the works to head up everything from soap operas, sit-coms, tv dramas, tv mini series, and news. This would help Distant Thunder to allow better reception of outside ideas. More people would be able to come to DT Films with their ideas and turn them into a tv show or mini series. We'd love to help you make your idea into art. 7•13•2002 Film Noir In Progress!- Distant Thunder Films has a brand new project in the works. A black and white, mystery, film noir movie has been scheduled for late summer. Shooting will begin mid July and is expected to go through August. The projects was written and will be directed by Phillip Matarrese. Some actors to be involved include Dave Wainwright, Ed Mallenk, and Frank Paredes. "This is going to bring back the golden age of Hollywood feel," says writter/director Phillip Matarrese. We can expect the film to be released on video and DVD eventhough no release date has been announced yet. And we have gotten wind that a TV series, a western, and a sci-fi film are also being discussed as future projects.
