Gold Sensation/My Favorite Bow

"Gold Sensation" is a distinctive "bubble gown" ensemble that epitomizes the fashion daring of a fun and frivolous decade. The strapless gold satin gown hugs the figure to the knee, where it bells out in a mermaid train. The matching bubble overskirt is lined in ice blue satin, fastened at the waist with a rhinestone circlet, and again at the knee with a bow. Accessories include a shawl, evening shoes with rhinestone buckles, rhinestone circlet earrings. Circa 1957. Designed by Tim Kennedy for the Gene Marshall Collection.

Interesting Tidbits: The name of this costume is to be changed, due to Mattel's claim of copyright infringement. Two other names are known for this outfit: "My Favorite Bow" and "The Magnificent Bow".
