***Activities.......
1)Add snow to your sand/water table or dishpans or small pool. Let the kids play indoors with mittens on. Add scoops for playing and digging; add food coloring to change it colors; and turn it into a science project by watching snow melt into water throughout the day. Add ice cubes to build mini igloos. Build mini snowmen. Add small farm equipment and trucks for imaginitive play. Popsicle sticks make great pretend trees.

2)Look for old white sheets at a garage sale. Two twins would be good. Sew a huge mitten shape out of it and then act out the story "The Mitten" by Jan Brett.

3)Marble paint with white paint on black or blue paper. When dry, do the other side as well. When that side is dry, cut each into a large snowflake pattern and hang from the ceiling. Silver glitter can be sprinkled on while the paint is still wet for a sparkly look.

4) Spread glue on the bottom fourth of a sheet of paper. Let the kids sprinkle that fake snow stuff onto the glue. They can draw a winter scene on their paper. Younger children can glue precut circles onto their paper to make a snowman.

5) Go sledding!!!

6) Build a snow fort!!!

7) Fill spray bottles with water and food coloring. Let them decorate the snow!

8) Make cupcakes, frost them with white frosting and let them dip the whole thing in shredded coconut. Make a snowman out of gumdrops or mini marshmallows by sticking them onto a toothpick and then add to your cupcakes. Be sure to take the snowmen apart first before eating.
