Minnesota Training Requirements
Beginning July 1st, 2006, MN providers are required to
take 8 hours of training
annually. Most licenses are initially renewed after the
first
year and then bi-annually after that. Shaken Baby Syndrome
training must be taken every five years and must be a
minimum of 1 hour in length (annual viewing of an approved
SBS video is also required) SIDS training must be taken
every 3 years. If transporting children under 9 years of age,
any caregiver or sub or helper must complete a Child
Passenger Restraint Systems Training (at least 1 hour in
length)every 5 years. CPR and First Aid is now also required.
