**Magnetic Marble Painting - SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS
FOODS

This type of artwork could be used for any occasion at any time, but here's how I adapted it for a food theme or even a project to go with the song "On Top of Spaghetti".
Needed: white paper
magnetic marbles 2-4 of them
magnet wand or a good size strong magnet
lid from a cardboard box
yellow or brown paint mixed with white paint to make the color of spaghetti or something close
red construction paper
scissors
glue
paper plates
Cut out large circles from white paper almost as big as a paper plate. One child at a time lays their circle into the cardboard box. Drop 2-3 of the marbles into the noodle colored paint (to make noodles)and another marble into red paint(for spaghetti sauce) and then onto the paper. Using the magnet or wand underneath the cardboard box, make the marbles dance all over the paper circle. (I've found that thick paint doesn't let the marbles move around as much, so the thinner, the better .) Cover the paper several times over to make it look like a scoop of spaghetti noodles. When dry, glue it onto a paper plate. Then let the children cut out meatballs from red construction paper and glue them onto their plate of spaghetti !!!!

** Ice Cream Cone Flannelboard
My kids like to take this "game" out during freeplay. They can make patterns or sort by colors or just have fun making ice cream cones!!
Cut out 5 triangle shapes from brown felt to be used as the cones. Cut several round or oval shapes from several other felt colors such as pink for strawberry, red for cherry, tan for chocolate, green for mint, white for vanilla, etc.
I store this game in a clear plastic container and have also added number cards. The child can draw a number and add that many scoops to their cone.
