Below is a letter from Terry McKown, a Cole
baby, to Sharon Perkins, another Cole Baby.
Sadly, Terry passed away without ever having
found out who he was, where he came from,
or what his medical history was. This
happens to far too many blackmarket babies.
My name is Terry McKown, I to was a blackmarket baby of
Catherine Cole, I don't refer to her as Doctor because I hate to think
that being a doctor gives anyone the franchise to sell baby's.
I was born (Supposently) Feb 1,1943 in Miami Fla.It is possible that the
date could be off a day or two. John connoly did a story on me and my
efforts to locate my birthparents. It was in the August 9,1993 issue of
the Miami Herald.
My adopted mother told at an early age that I was adopted, and I could
not have ever asked for better parents or upbringing. However I am now
57 and have been searching for over 10 years without any success.
I was raised in Miami Springs attended St. John The Apostle School in
Hialeah. Junior High was Miami Springs Jr. and then Hialeah High School.
Being adopted has never bothered me except the not knowing who my real
parents were. My adopted mother is still alive and is 96 years old my
adopted father died in 1971.
There was some speculation that I was born at Victoria Hospital in Miami
, However in searching their records I found nothing documented. My
sister was also a Cole baby , Born Oct 26,1946, she passed away in 1991
of lung and heart problems. The health issue is very important as I have
some health problems and my sister did as well, thus her death at an
early age. There is no way to give a doctor or a health administrator
any background on yourself if you don't know.
Catherine Cole was interested only in turning a fast buck at the expense
of persons that would give anything for a child in their lives. It was
obvious that those that could pay large amounts, Paid large amounts. I
wonder if she ever had any conscience at all? Anyone that can help
me or anyone that I may be able to help , Please e-mail me and lets
compare notes.
