PEACEHAVEN & DISTRICT RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION

SUMMER EDITION 2002

CHAIRMAN HON.SECRETARY
Mr G. Parsons Miss C. Wood-Higgs

Next Quarterly Meeting

The next Quarterly meeting will be on 17 July in the Gracie Fields Room, the Meridian Centre at 7.30 pm.

The Chairman

Hello Everybody,

Thank you, to all that came to the public meeting at the Meridian Centre in April, regarding the speed humps in and around Peacehaven. I would like to thank Cynthia our Secretary for all the hard work organising this event. East Sussex County Council might think this will now be forgotten, but believe me it will not. We are going to have safety surveys, which will be hopefully paid for by Peacehaven Town Council (but this has yet to be confirmed), and the Residents’ Association. There will be a ballot paper sent out to every one in Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs. When you receive this, you will have a choice to say yes or no to the scheme. Please complete and send them back, we will confirm where to send the ballot paper to at a later date.

I would like to thank Peacehaven Town Council for the use of the Meridian Hall, and also a big thank you to Don Burrell for chairing the meeting.

Since the last Clarion dog bins have been put around the Dell. If people do not use the bins, the next step will be to ban dogs from the Dell, so your neighbours have been warned!

Gordon Parson
Chairman

The Editors thoughts and comments

As editor I must apologise if by not editing a letter in the last edition I upset anyone, it was not intentional. When you send a letter to the Clarion, it is at the editor’s discretion to both include it and use the editorial pen to make minor changes. I look forward to making some editorial decisions with your forthcoming letters. With no History Society meeting to clash with the Resident’s Association’s meeting this quarter I shall be there to try and answer my critics.

On the positive side the letter regarding dogs fouling in The Dell action has been taken so things do get done if they are for the good of the community.
