Georgiana, the Duchess of Devonshire, and Caroline's aunt.
Duchess of Devonshire
A beautiful portrait of Georgiana, painted by Thomas Gainsborough, circa 1785-1788.
Lady Melbourne
Lady Melbourne, Caroline's mother-in-law.
Lady Morgan
Lady Morgan, novelist, and one of Caroline's friends in her later years. They kept up a regular correspondence.
Hart
The Marquess of Hartington, more commonly known as "Hart". He later became the 6th Duke of Devonshire. Hart was madly in love with Caroline and had a nervous breakdown when she married William Lamb. He vowed never to marry.
Prince Regent
George IV, Prince Regent of Wales. George was Regent from 1811-20 and King from 1820-30. This portrait was painted in 1815.
Ada Byron
Augusta Ada Byron, the daughter of Byron and Annabella Milbanke Byron (later, Countess of Lovelace. She was named after Byron's half-sister, Augusta, who he is rumored to have had an affair with. Ada is also rumored to be the first computer programmer. Check out the book, Ada: Enchantress of Numbers by Betty A. Toole, to read letters she wrote to Byron on the description of the first computer.
Augusta Leigh
Augusta Leigh, Byron's half-sister whom he is rumored to be lovers with.
Annabelle
Annabelle Milbanke Byron. Annabelle married Lord Byron on January 2, 1815.
