From Hwy. 99 take the Skyway exit and head east. Turn right on Notre Dame
(at the stop
light). Turn left
on Morrow Lane.The entrance to the Genetic Resource Center
(Mendocino National
Forest) will be on the right. Drive down this driveway for
approximately 2/10
mile and there will be a small parking area to the left next to
a gate. You will
have to park outside the gate and walk to the natrure trails or
just walk around
the GRC.
From Hwy. 99 take the Hwy. 32 exit and travel east 1.5 miles to Bruce road.
Turn left on
Bruce Rd and
travel 1.8 miles to Wildwood Lane. Turn right at the fire house
(on Wildlwood) and
continue till you reach any of the parking areas. A golf course
will be on your
right. If the gate is open you can continue driving into the park
(dirt road). Otherwise
there are several hiking/biking trails which will take
you into the park.

Getting There
From hwy 99 take the Hwy 32 exit to the east turn left toward the park
and ride
and after stop sign cross to east 8th street (runs to the northeast). Go
.8 miles
and on the right will be the Chico Creek Nature Center. You can enter the
park here.
The park runs east
west along Big Chico Creek. Another entrance: From
Hwy 99, take the
First Ave. exit and go west making a left at the second stop
light (Mangrove
Ave) and continuing to Vallombrosa Ave. Take a left onto
Vallombrosa. Turn
right at the first stop sign and just to the left will be a parking
area for the One
Mile Recreation Area of Bidwell Park.
Take West Sacramento Ave. out of town to the west. Eventually it will "T"
into River Road.
Turn right on River
Road and Indian Fisheries Day Area will be on your left
about 150'. There
is a sign and a small parking area with picnic tables and a
portable restroom.
There is a short trail that goes around the area,
near the slough.
From Hwy 32 turn west on W. 5th Street (it will turn
into Chico River Road). Turn left (south) at the
Sewage Treatment Facility and park. There is a sign
that points to the birding area.
From Chico, take Walnut to "four corners" (the old Mother's Restaurant)
at the stop sign.
Turn right on Ord
Ferry Rd. Go 3.0 miles (through Dayton) and turn left on
Seven Mile Lane.
The Llano Seco Unit of the Sacramento NWR is 2.1 miles
down Seven
Mile Lane on the right. There is a parking area, a restroom
and a raised viewing
platform. There is also a viewing platform to the
west that you can
walk to. (Bring a spotting scope for best viewing.)
