High water catfishing
When the rivers are about to flow over there banks catfish
are easy to target with an excellent chance of catching numbers
of trophy fish.I rate high water conditions number one for
patterning large numbers of cats.
Back water areas below dams, shoreline breaks such as fallen
timber or large boulders and below man made dikes are key
elements when trying to locate catfish.Gives bank fisherman
an excellent opportunity to catch lots of big cats cruising the
shorelines of there favorite fishing spot.
Bobbers rigged just off the bottom with cut baits work really well
for channel cats.Keeps bait in the sent and site range of channels
cruising in back water/slack water areas.
I use slip sinker rigs when fishing tight shoreline breaks casting
parallel to bank.Use cut baits for channels and lively fresh bait
for flatheads.Use equipment that can handle large cats in fast current
most cats will head back out into the rivers current when hooked.
