Ouija boards are a tricky subject. They do work, but they do not work in the way some people think. They are not toys. They are not a divinatory device, which means you can't tell fortunes with them. What you can do is connect with spirits. These spirits are their own people so they may wish you harm and they may not.
I suggest always using the Ouija board under the supervision of an experienced Witch if possible. A protective circle should be cast before using the Ouija board and a banishing afterwards. Do not let the spirits scare you into harming yourself and always have a good reason for using the board. Consulting your Ouija board should always be approached with prayer and caution.
