Dear Estela,
Depending on the area, there are often more women in a Wiccan group than men. This female majority, as well as the growing interest in female only groups and Dianic Wicca is sometimes attributed to social and political movements as well as ecofeminism. Ecofeminists believe that an unfair control is exerted upon the environment, and that this is inextricably bound to the similar predicament of women being controlled by men. Wicca, with it's emphasis on the equality of masculine and feminine duality, escapes this hierarchy and makes it an attractive alternative that moves many who have been searching for just such a philosophy.
