Dear Delriece...
Can you tel me what my life will be like with a
child??? I'm 31 yrs of age and my pertner just turned 47. When we started we
always talked about having children or atleast 1 child. We love each
other very, very much. 3 weeks ago I pressed for an answer about children.
And the answer is NO. I am heart broken about this, because now I will
never have a child. He already has two children and sees the future
with me as a happy one and were we can enjoy life without that
responsibility. Am I selfish to want children?? Or should I give up my soulmate??
I don't know what to do.
Warm blessings.

Dear Lily,
You have every right to be heartbroken if your partner has changed his mind and this does not make you selfish. However, it may be considered selfish to bring children into a world where one of their parents didn't want them. Since this is obviously very important to you, I suggest the two of you discuss it more. You may want an unbiased third party such as a counselor to help you. Talk about why you want children and why he doesn't. Perhaps you can work with kids in some capacity to fulfill your longing, and perhaps he can work around his issues. But dismissing the question so quickly won't help either of you.
Light!
Delriece
