Surprise
on the
Mountain
As I struggled through
a steep pass in the mountains, I glanced to the side and was
greeted by a strange sight. There on a rock sat the most curious
Sadhu I had ever seen.

The Venerable BABA-RAM
Looking at him, I couldn't
help smiling a bit, and his friendly smile back asked me to sit
in the cool shade along with him. In singsong english he said
I looked ill, and asked where
I was going. My reply that I was going to die because of lines
in the sky made him chuckle, then cackle, then belly laugh.
"Lines
in the sky,
he thinks he will now die"
-BABA-RAM
He told me that those
who walk in the light are aware of the poison in the air, and
can help them selves stay well. His own practice could
help others if they would only try.

What he
told me next would change my life, and save it.
