Have you seen The Rose Of Versailles? It is an
anime from the seventies. (It was written before any of us were even born!^^)
The art style reflects the decade, so it takes
a little getting used to, but the story is an epic adventure. There are
some striking similarities between ROV and Utena, so I would recommend
it highly. ^^ You can even detect a little of Ikeda (The ROV artist) in
Saito's work.
