Mutual funds are groups of stocks that are categorized into areas of special interest.
The bulk of the funds are Team funds, where all the player stocks from a given team are contained. There are other funds as well. They are all listed at WSS under "Mutual Funds" on the Market Listing Page.
Fund Price
...is the average price of all the stocks contained within the fund. A fund contains equal percentages of all shares held within it: A fund with 5 stocks in it has 20% interest
in each, while a fund with 2 stocks in it has 50% interest in each.
No Boni are awarded to a Mutual Fund, but if all the stocks within a fund have been awarded substantial boni, the net result will be that the fund price will rise as well.
Rule of Thumb: A Mutual Fund with fewer stocks within it tends to be more volatile than a Fund with a higher number of holdings. Consequently, a Fund with fewer holdings
is more adversely affected by an IPO or Stock Split.
TIP: Invest in a mutual fund that has a high percentage of players who consistently outperform per game estimates.
