It seems that pops boy band a1 will be traveling
soon to the Country of México, because
there's been a lot of promotion over prestigious
radio stations in the capitol of that country.
If you are live in Mexico, D.F. go quickly
and turn on the radio.. pop up the volume and get
hold of your phone because you may win some of the
free stuff of fantastic a1 that radio
stations are giving away, and just by
dialing!!! GOTTA GET IT! ^_~

A1 will be traveling to sunny
California to film 2 episodes of the famous soap
opera "The Young & The Restless" at
the end of May. The shows may air on CBS as early
as June.
A1 will be releasing their 3rd
as yet untitled album on May 27th 2002 and will
also see their first release in the USA later this
summer. ‘Caught In The Middle’ has already
picked up pop/crossover play in the US and is
looking like the breakthrough record for the
London 4 piece. (from a1-online.com)
Make It Good is out 13th May!!
Make It Good, the album, is out 27th May!!
As new and fresh information we tell you that
the boys are playing instruments, it seems that they
are pretty interested in creating music, I mean writing
the songs as well as putting them sound, all by
themselves! kwel!!

a1 @ Top of the
pops
1. Have a musical background
Paul: I'm the karaoke king. In fact, just last week I won first prize in the
karaoke competition in our local! For the record, it was No Woman No Cry and
Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me that won it for me. I was actually
discovered singing in my dad's bar in Spain - a producer who was in told me
about the auditions for the band.
Mark: My family's musical and I've performed in cruise ships with them since I
was 14 - I was the youngest performer the ship ever had. I first experienced
music when my mum played drums in a band while she was pregnant with me
- I must have had the rhythm beaten into me!
Christian: I went to the Paul McCartney fame school in Liverpool then to a
performing arts school in Norway. I sang in my school choir in the States as
well.
Ben: I started singing when I was three which lead me on to becoming head
chorister at St Margaret's Church in Westminster Abbey - I recorded two
albums, y'know! I even sang for the Pope so I'm sure he's a big fan of a1
already!
2. Get together
Paul: I was first to join the group so I saw a few others come and go before
we decided on the final tine-up. Over 3,000 people were auditioned but I was
the only one to come from that.
Mark: It couldn't have worked out better, realty. Its a bit of a daunting
experience when you're introduced to three guys and are told, 'These are
gonna be your best friends for the rest of your lives!' It was kinda Like that!
Ben: Mark and I already knew each other, we'd worked in another band that
didn't take off and I'm quite glad about that now!
Christian: I've been in other bands before but I was really impressed when I
met these guys. I thought, 'This is it!' I was convinced because every single
one of them had such a great voice.
Mark. Its funny cos we're all fans of each other! I have songs the other guys
have written and recorded and I listen to them as much as anything else in
my collection Its so nice, I've always wanted to be in a band but I never
dreamed of being in a band like this.
3. Think of a cool name
Mark: This is the true story so don't listen to anyone else telling you it came
to us when we were driving up the A1. We were with our managers one day
and they pointed at a big WH Smith's pad. I thought they were going to open
it up and reveal this cool name and big master-plan but they said "No, this is
it!"
Paul: We thought, 'WH Smith's? That's a rubbish name for a pop group!' then
we spotted the A1 and it all clicked.
Ben: The idea behind a1 is always to be the best you can be and never stop
striving for the best.
Christian: Yeah, the number one always stands for being the best - its
universal. You can find our records right at the front of the racks too!
